Cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to locate and construct new qanats in Nakhchivan:

Following the IOM's request, an expert dispatched to Nakhchivan three times (July, September and November 2009) to designate a suitable place for construction of new qanats, and as a result a new qanat is under way now and another one is planned to be built soon. Also some qanats under repair were visited and some technical advices were given in this respect. A short training was also given to the IOM experts on general issues revolving around qanat system.
