The graduation ceremony of the first round students of the Qanat College was held on 10th July 2008 in Yazd.

This ceremony was attended by the Iranian deputy minister of Energy for water and wastewater affairs, UNESCO's representative, the representative of ministry of agriculture, the representative of Iranian National commission for UNESCO and the representatives of the countries China, Iraq, Afghanistan and Oman. The students of this college have passed a two year course on rehabilitation and maintenance of Qanats and acquired the knowledge and experience needed for preservation of qanats.
